Norwich City were held to a 0-0 draw by Queens Park Rangers at Carrow Road as they failed to convert many chances against Mick Beale’s promotion.
Onel Hernandez had the pick of the bunch when he was sent through on goal late on, but Teemu Pukki and Grant Hanley both hit the woodwork and Chris Willock did the same for the visitors.
The result keeps City fifth in the Championship on goal difference, although results elsewhere and away games mean their position in the league’s play-off places is in serious jeopardy.

In spells it was some of the best we have played this season. Unfortunately it was still only 4 or 5 out of 10 overall (being generous – our standards are now so low) #ncfc

Was it really just a 6/10 performance tonight, wasn’t it? Never really got going, almost like the idea was there but it didn’t work out for the team. Smith really isn’t using these players properly and that’s a real shame. One thing that is certain is that we need a proper winger in January. #NCFC

I thought we played really well tonight. High pace and a lot of attacking intent. Then QPR trained us out after 20 minutes and #ncfc had no idea at all what to do. No plan B. No excitement. No enjoyment. #smith

It was better. I wasn’t bored and I felt like we were actually in control of the game, at least for the most part. However, it was still mostly “okay” against a team that was very poor on the night #ncfc

I think people forget the chances QPR could score too (Gunn was brilliant)
One point is probably fair and not the worst result. But we should expect better from the team/management. Still in the playoffs, that’s enough. If we are there in May, I am not so sure #ncfc

We had chances to win comfortably. Performance was better. Expectations, including my own, must be much lower because the playing squad is average. It falls on Webber I’m afraid and the guy is robbing his livelihood #ncfc

Definitely deserved at least a goal but Gunn also kept us in it at times. It’s a struggle to look at a page with no identity, I still don’t understand what we’re trying to achieve! #ncfc

I actually liked it. That’s as good as we are, I’m afraid. I personally think individually, this team can do much better. I don’t believe in Dean Smith, and his tactics are capable of getting it out of them. #ncfc #canarycall

QPR better 2nd half, I thought we were a bit slow with the ball, still big chances to win the game, Onel should score and Hanleys could go anywhere at the end! Although QPR are above us, 2 points have been dropped #Ncfc

I don’t like Byram. Aarons hasn’t been great recently but who has? Max offers so much more than sideways passing Byram (who gets caught just as much as Aaron’s, if not more) #NCFC

The second half was absolutely awesome. Laterally, lukewarm passing and a lack of energy and intensity after the foundation was laid in a strong first half. Not a hope in hell we’re going up under this manager. #ncfc

I’m happy. City played well and created good chances. A point against QPR is nothing to sneeze at, although it is disappointing not to have taken all three points from this game as we deserved to win. Let’s build on this and move forward with positivity. #ncfc #canarycall

It’s extremely obvious, but that caliber of performance just doesn’t get you promoted. #SmithBall #NCFC

A bit much to expect a full 90 minutes of decent football given how out of shape we have been collectively and/or individually. Some decent spells in that game though. Both goalkeepers made decisive saves. We didn’t lose. QPR is also a good team. There are certainly positive things. #NCFC

It felt like the kind of tight game in the Farke seasons we would win with an individual moment of quality. Those flashes just aren’t there now #ncfc

Angus Gunn MOTM by a country mile. The double save off the post and then the header was sensational. #ncfc

So bad tonight from Gibbs and Hayden. Hardly featured Gibson/Hanley at all and when they did, they didn’t once want to receive the ball on the half turn or in a tight pocket to split the lines. Offered NOTHING offensively or to build attacks from the back. #NCFC

First 15 was very good, the rest was pretty good average and that is to be kind. Also, our inability to finish chances will ultimately cost us top 6. Under smith we are not moving up. #ncfc

No win but feels like a step forward. Miles better than Saturday’s 3-1 victory #ncfc
