Premium Bonds: Were you a winner in the November 2022 draw?

Were you one of the lucky winners in November’s National Savings and Investments (NS&I) Premium Bonds draw? Once again two lucky players won £1m each this month.

The first winning bond number drawn was 460WE462342 and belongs to a winner in Hertfordshire. The jackpot winner holds £15,000 in Premium Bonds and bought the winning bond in June 2021. The win makes them the fifteenth jackpot winner from Hertfordshire.

The second winning bond number drawn was 245PK699534 and the winner is from Essex. The winner holds £25,253 in Premium Bonds and bought their winning bond in May 2015. They are the twentieth Premium Bonds millionaire from Essex.

For the November 2022 draw, NS&I paid out almost 5 million prizes worth more than £218 million.

The total paid out by NS&I in the 65 years since the first draw in July 1957 is now £23.9 billion, from 592 million prizes.

Jill Waters, NS&I retail director, said: “Premium bonds are a fun way to start saving – customers have the chance to win any of our more than 4.9 million prizes. Their winnings can be life-changing, as we’ve seen with our two winners in Hertfordshire and Essex. People up and down the country can start their journey with Premium Bonds with an initial investment of just £25.”

In addition to the two £1 million bonds, there are 18 winners of £100,000, 36 of £50,000, 71 of £25,000, 178 of £10,000 and 358 of £5,000.

All bonds have the same chance of winning, regardless of when or where they were purchased.

Even if you didn’t get a winning ticket, be sure to check for any unclaimed prizes. In Outer London there are 246,510 unclaimed prizes worth £8,613,300. The largest unclaimed prize is £100,000 and comes from the February 2007 prize draw. The oldest unclaimed prize in Outer London is from November 1961 and is worth £25.

In Suffolk there are 22,656 unclaimed prizes with a total value of £725,300. £1,000 is the largest unclaimed prize in Suffolk and there are nine of these won between May 1986 and December 2020. The oldest unclaimed prize is from May 1967 and is worth £25.

Prizes do not expire, meaning you can claim as far back as the original 1957 draw. Premium Bond holders can reduce the risk of their prizes being unclaimed by managing their Premium Bonds online or choosing to have any prizes paid directly to their bank accounts by BACS, with email notification.
