CHRISTMAS wouldn’t be the same without a selection box to munch your way through while watching an afternoon movie.
And supermarkets often have offers on these treats before Christmas.

We’ve scoured the shelves to find the best price on some of the most popular versions right now.
But be sure to check with your local store – you never know when prices may change.
The Trolley.co.uk comparison tool is also a handy way to check prices at all supermarkets at once.
Before you splash out, you might want to consider the cost of buying each item separately.

Selection boxes can be great, but sometimes they end up being more expensive than buying each product individually.
Aldi and Lidl were either out of stock or do not sell the items below, so they are not included in the comparison.
Here are our other suggestions:
Cadbury Santa Chocolate Selection Carton (145g)

8
It’s the classic choice – a Cadbury selection box containing six popular chocolates: Fudge, Wispa, Dairy Milk, Double Decker, Dairy Milk Buttons and a Crunchie.
In most supermarkets this currently retails for £2 or £1.50, but it’s just £1.25 in Asda.
There is also a smaller 89g version, which contains a Chomp, Freddo, Dairy Milk Buttons, Curly Wurly and a Fudge.
This is £1 in most supermarkets, but only 89p in Asda at the moment.
Be aware that some of the products, such as the chocolate buttons, are “treat size” versions, so not full size.
Galaxy Christmas Collection Selection Box (244g)

8
This selection box is definitely one for Galaxy chocolate lovers.
It contains two Ripples, plus four Galaxy bars: Smooth Milk, Cookie Crumble, Salted Caramel and Smooth Caramel.
It retails for £3 in many supermarkets, although it is £4 in Wilko.
But if you buy it in Tesco and have a club card, you’ll only pay £2.
And Asda currently have it on offer for £1.50 – the cheapest we found.
Maltesers & Friends Christmas Selection Box (207g)

8
The Maltesers & Friends box contains a large bag of Maltesers, a small bag of Maltesers, Milky Way, Twix, Maltesers Reindeer, Maltesers Teasers bar and Mars.
It’s £3 in most supermarkets, but costs £2 in Tesco with a club card.
But Asda comes out on top again, selling it for just £1.50.
Aero Festive Selection Box (360g)

8
This is the most expensive selection box we compared, and the largest.
You get four 90g Aero bars inside: chocolate, peppermint, white and orange.
At the moment it retails for £5 in Tesco, £4.50 in Iceland and £4 in B&M, which was the cheapest we saw.
But it has gone down to £2.50 in Tesco in early November in previous years, so it’s worth keeping an eye out in the coming weeks.
M&M’s & Friends Medium Selection Box (139g)

8
Next up, the M&M’s box has Crispy M&M’s, Choco M&M’s, Peanut M&M’s, Twix and Mars inside.
The cheapest price we found was £2, and that was the price at Morrisons, Asda and Tesco.
By weight, this was the smallest selection box we compared, and not the cheapest, meaning it’s not the best value.
But if you, or someone you love, is mad at M&M’s, this might be for you.
Skittles & Friends Selection Box (150.5g)

8
Skittles selection box is slightly different in that it is not entirely chocolate based.
With Mars, Milky Way, two packs of Skittles Fruits, Skittles Sours and two packs of Skittles Darkside, it’s a good selection of sweets as well as a couple of small chocolate bars.
Like the M&M’s box, we found this for £2 in Morrisons, Asda and Tesco, which was the cheapest price at the moment.
Nestle Xmas Choco Box (216.3g)

8
Last but not least, chocolate lovers can enjoy a good selection of Nestle’s most popular bars for Christmas.
The box has a KitKat with four fingers, Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles, Yorkie, KitKat Chunky, Aero Milk and Aero Peppermint.
It retails for £3 in most supermarkets, but Asda has it on sale for £1.50.

The Sun has recently revealed the cheapest place to buy Baileys this year.
But if you want to save even more, Asda has launched two new Irish cream flavors as part of its Christmas range.
