They confirmed their relationship at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in late March but are said to have been dating for over a year.

‘Now I haven’t seen that toothbrush in about a year, but then it felt great. It’s fun to wake up and go to breakfast and service the car and sort things out…
‘I know it sounds silly, but that’s what we’re after. We’re just dying to live together.’
Rumors have swirled of Anya and boyfriend Malcolm secretly tying the knot after she was pictured on several occasions in Sydney wearing what appears to be a wedding ring, but has yet to comment on the speculation.
According to Page Six, the couple married in July in a US court ceremony.
Anya refused to confirm or deny rumors that she had secretly married her musician boyfriend during an interview with last month’s issue of Vogue Australia.
“I think when people want to say something, they say something,” she said cryptically.

In the interview, she described the importance of making your voice heard in Hollywood and the power of saying no.

Relationship: The British-American actress, 26, who is very private about her romance, said the couple are ‘just longing for life together’
She said: “I’ve always been very forthright about my ideas – but there’s definitely a point where I think, unfortunately, as a society, it’s been embedded in our brains to think, maybe it’s not my place to say this, or I maybe need to be quiet a little longer and then give a solution, because I don’t want to go overboard.
“Over the last few years I’ve definitely learned to say, ‘Hey, I’m actually not okay’ or ‘You’re not listening to me’ – and I don’t think I would have gotten there if I hadn’t been pushed on a certain way, because I’m naturally a people pleaser. But eventually you get so trampled that you start standing up and saying no.’
Anya gained worldwide recognition when she had her breakthrough role in 2015’s The Witch.
Describing how she developed her work ethic from the film, she said: “It gave me the cornerstones of how I work now, which is basically the idea that there’s no hierarchy on set: you work hard, you stay on top of the film.” and you don’t assume that someone else will do it for you.

Speaking up: In the interview, she described the importance of making your voice heard in Hollywood and the power of saying no
“Your title doesn’t stop with the actor – you’re the creative on this film, and that’s how you have to approach it.”
Despite receiving rave reviews for her performance, Anya said: ‘I thought I’d done a really bad job, and I saw myself failing at this dream I’d had for so long. I guess I’m not always the best judge of my own work.’
She then went on to star in other critically acclaimed works, such as her acclaimed portrayal of Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit.
Speaking about evolving into her character and working with the film’s director, Scott Frank, she said, “I didn’t choose to be a method actor, and I don’t want to be, but I find that the more I work, the more the line becomes blurred.

‘I just saw it in my head straight away – I knew exactly what to do. Before the audition, I must have devoured the book in an hour, and I physically ran to meet Scott. I felt Beth really strongly.
Anya moved countries as a child, which she has said prepared her for the demands of the acting industry.
She explained: ‘I feel as a child I got the best possible training for the nomadic nature of this job… Now, when people ask me where home is, I say home is wherever I’ve slept for more than two nights.’
She also said that she treats interviews, photo shoots and red carpet appearances as creative challenges.

Success story: She then went on to star in other critically acclaimed works, such as her acclaimed portrayal of Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit
She said: ‘I think I struggle with the idea that people are interested in me as a person, because that’s not what I put out there.
“If I make it about myself, that’s when I start to panic, whereas if it’s an art form, it’s so much easier.
I’m lucky enough to work with people who are as obsessively creative as I am, and we build whole stories together. That makes it fun, because I’m an artist, and making art is all I want to do.’
Anya admitted that she has faced the “dark experiences” of the film industry, but believes that hard work and kindness prevail.

Art form: She also said she treats interviews, photo shoots and red carpet appearances as creative challenges
She said: ‘I think everything has an equal amount of light and dark. I’ve definitely had the dark experiences of it – but I notice that the friendliness will disappear when it comes to long game strategy.
“If you work hard and are good to people, they want to keep working with you, and then another door opens.”
She also talked about how she decides which projects to work on, explaining: “Saying no is really hard for me, because I always want to do everything.”
But she added: ‘But I’m lucky enough to be in a position where I can ask myself, do you feel passionate enough about this to spend seven months living across the world, away from everyone you know and love? Will it support you? And if the answer is yes, you probably should.’
